What does this exactly do and is it worth the $$

I found an online shop selling a Panasonic AG-DVX100A Pro Hi-Def 72mm 2x Telephoto Lens

It degrades your image to look like garbage.

So no, I don't think it would be worth the $$$. You could scrape the front of your lens with rocks for a lot less.

(seriously, that's probably one of those awful "pro titanium" lenses from Digital Optics or Crystal Optics or Crystal Vision... they're utterly worthless and *do not* work on the DVX, regardless of what the seller says.

What about a wide angle converter?

What about a wide angle converter?

DO you hold the same opinion for this product? http://www4.willoughbys.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=2505DIGOPTWALNS

If so would you care to elaborate.

the link you just posted was to one of those awful professional titanium lenses, so my guess would be that it's also garbage. In reality, you're not going to find a cheap solution to a wide angle lense. Do the right thing, and spend the extra money on a century optics lense. You won't regret it.
