What does the typical DVX shooters lighting Rig contain?

Anyone have any suggestions for building up a lighting kit

What would be the essentials people would recommend to have for general DV filming?

Anythings to avoid? I only really have experience with buying cheap halogen lights that are pretty
unreliable.

Am working to a budget of $700 (If they are units that we can buy in UK all the better)

Perhaps it would be good to mention what you are going to be filming:

ENG, Narrative, Weddings, Docs... etc.

Sure

Mainly filming people - so documentary, interviews, in business premises, shops etc.

Then some more controlled conditions filming actors on solid backgrounds - white/ green screen etc.
