Hi, i was wondering what do you use to stabilize a tripod.

Do you use stabilization lens ?
Do you use a strap on your camera?

Is a viewfinder very essential for stabilization?

If you have all the above, does a rig would help to ? (i was thinking of buying a polaroid rig but maybe a viewfinder and a stabilization lens would be sufficient).

Do you use stabilization lens + viewfinder for extra stabilizatiion?

Thanks in advance

When I'm shooting on a DSLR without a tripod, it's for documentary b-roll in situations where mobility is most important. I'll usually strap a monopod to a small backpack, and carry the DSLR attached to a Cinevate Simplis chest stabilizer rig. There's a Manfrotto compatible QR plate between the camera cage and the chest rig, and also a QR plate under the chest rig, so I can quickly remove the chest rig or pop the whole thing onto the monopod when needed. And I'll try to use a wider lens with IS, such as the Canon 17-55 2.8 pictured here. I like the little Cinevate Simplis chest rig because it's compact, sturdy, and easy to adjust. I think it works great.
