Zim, you can use the DVX for anything you want. You can use it to shoot feature films, music videos, wedding videos, a short, a dog, a midget doing a back flip, commercials, people cheating on their spouses, a horror movie, did I mention midgets, a birthday party, a sports event, a baby's first step, your daughters graduation, a johnny tesh featuring Yanni concert, prime time news, yourself, and finally a midget beating me up for talking about them. When shooting midgets is it better to shoot in 4:3 or 16:9? I would think the squeeze mode would be a bad idea too!! ;)
