What do you think was used on this lighting setup?

Im going to be doing a shoot in about 6 weeks similar to this Errol Morris short project:

What do you think the lighting setup was like? I was thinking a few kinos? He did shoot it on a white background/ no greenscreen. Atleast thats what he said in an interview.

If you want to know what type of light and where it is, look at two things; the reflections and the shadows. Look under the peoples chins and noses, it's a very soft shadow. Look in their eyes and glasses, esp. when some of the folks tilt their heads back, see the large soft source in their glasses? I would bet on either a large soft box, or a large card that has a head (like a 2k open face or larger) bounced into it. I'd bet on the softbox because I see no gear reflected in glasses. Then light the background evenly.

ditto on the large softbox... very very large softbox. That makes me wish i had one as well.... damn my 24x32.
