What do you think about this dolly?

there are quite a few of this type of dolly out there. i have the Kessler dolly system like this. i bought 2-50' runs of their hose so i can get really long.

i also have the kessler K-Pod with their rollers. very sturdy and heavy duty enough for you to ride on it.

on this rig you show it looks like you could only push your tripod along which isnt bad though. i do it that way most of the time.

negatives on this style of system.

you have to be on very smooth surface or you will see the imperfections of your movement in your shot when going over not smooth areas.

another negative is if your shooting in the direction of your track/hose and you are going straight its very hard to keep the track perfectly "straight" because it was to "snake" somewhat causes your forward shot to drift a little to the left and right. very annoying if you looking for a perfect dolly shot moving forward. 2 people can try to pull the slack out of the hose but it creeps back in. best to shoot @ an angle to avoid this.

my hunch for your rig is that if you have just a light weight tripod that you adapt their wheels to then it could be a little lacking in a heavier sense of inertia. the Kpod and Herules head on Kessler's wheels is pretty heavy and its very smooth.

getting the extra run of hose is worth it. i see your kit offers 36'. an extra 36' really would get you a lot more out of this system.

so the system has a few quirks but all in all i can carry in the back seat of my honda civic with room to spare. quick setup and break down.
