What do you think about doing a Visual Pitch of your screenplay?

Hi, guys:

There's a new website for unsigned writers and musicians that just launched called MyVisualPitch.com (http://myvisualpitch.com/info).

Here, writers make mini trailers of their screenplays and upload them to their personal page on the site where industry professionals can come to browse for new material.

On the site, you can see examples of the Visual Pitches that writers and filmmakers have already submitted.

It seems like a great idea, since film is a visual medium, why not use a visual pitch to shop a project?

Anyway, what do you think? So far, the Featured Visual Pitches they have on the site look pretty cool.

Just curious, looking for feedback.

a great idea...

a great idea...

I have sold material through InkTip. <shrug> Film is a visual medium, so a visual pitch seems like a logical thing to do. It took me an hour to pull one together for my latest project. Why not get your material out there any way you can?

Hi, Film Maker:

Thanks for the feedback. I visited the site again today to see who had uploaded what and agree with you. If there's a new way to have your stuff seen by the industry, why not? I've optioned material before, and am always looking for a way to get my work noticed. Maybe it appeals to the youtube-er in me?
