I'm usually a DP but I'm working on this indie project for a buddy and somehow I'm roped into supervising an amatueur boom op and bringing the necessary equip. We're shooting on a HVX200, 50% indoor with 10-14 ft ceilings and 50% in the woods. I've been told I have a budget of $400. Here's what I'm looking at bringing. Any thoughts on obvious stuff that's missing or better ways to spend the cash?
Rode 81" boom - $89
Rode NTG-2 with cam mount - $270
shorty xlr cable - beg/borrow/steal
50' xlr cable - $20
a few blankets from the linen closet
some sort of homemade softy
