I was trying to close out tabs in fc6 6 and I thought the shortcut was shift 6 w. I was wrong. Now all my footage once stopped has a red translucent tint to it with a red x in the upper right corner. It plays with no problems but once it stops, I have this red tint. I tried to undo it but I wasn't able to. Is it just a preference I need to uncheck??

Looks like you somehow switched your Canvas window to display ALPHA+RGB.

Check the pulldown menu on the top of the Canvas window (on the right):

If it's on ALPHA - just switch it back to RGB:
