What color Peaking do you use?

I use red because that was the only choice on the first camera I had with color peaking, and I'm accustomed to the way it looks. But use whatever works best for you! That's why they give you a choice!

Uh...whatever color is NOT all over my scene!

I set my BMPCC to green last week and went out shooting a bunch of foliage. Man, that was a rookie mistake! I blew the focus on a bunch of shots because I had the wrong green stuff in focus. The small screen made it too hard to tell WHICH green foliage I was hitting.

On my older rig I only had red, and it was great up until the one live theater event I shot that made use of a bunch of red lights and red set pieces - the peaking was of almost no help that day.

On my Blackmagic cameras it's pretty easy to switch colors so I pick the one that is least represented in what's in front of me.

Yellow. And yes I should change it if a scene is full of yellow but either I've never found the need to actually do so, or I'm just too lazy.

I was told once to use either red, green, or blue since that can be more exact as it only uses one native pixel color. As opposed to white or yellow which has to blend RGB.
Not sure how true that is now that I'm thinking about it...but I can't find any info on it to say one way or the other.

On a color VF with a color image I prefer 'normal peaking'(my Sony OLED, Graticle OLED, and Panasonic LCD), but on my small HD monitor, I have focus assist set to red peaking with a B&W image. I also had my Alphatron set up so I could switch to B&W and red peaking, but that was two separate button presses.

That would be based on antiquated monitor technology. A proper panel such as the Odyssey7Q+ OLED can set the color of an individual pixel natively. There's no accuracy trade-off in choice of color.

I personally like yellow as well, but will switch to whatever is not in the scene. Sometimes I prefer a different color for night exterior than for day as it is a contrast/brightness/distraction issue based on the relative amount of illumination within the frame.
