What camera(s) used for "Darwin's Nightmare"?

I have just seen "Darwin's Nightmare" by Hubert Sauper.
It's a shocking documentary about the reality in some African countries, mostly Tanzania, where European planes bring in weapons and take home fish filet - while the people there are starving, happily eating the disgusting rests of fishheads thrown on the dump by the big fish-industry. You have to see it to believe it, it's really shocking.

I can't find any references as to what camera(s) was (were) used to make this documentary - according to the official site it was some kind of "small, hand-held camera". I'm guessing something like a Sony PD 150/170 - but then again it often seemed to be more like a manually-focussed 1/2" (or even 2/3") shoulder mount, judging from the pictures.

I heard that the filmmakers have to kinda smuggle their camera into the region and be really low profile in their filming, as most people there reject to be interviewed or shot if they see anything like a shoulder mount camera, or even something the size of a DVX100.

I suspect they use small consumer 3 chip cameras to get the footage, as it is conspicuous enough to not arouse any attention of the authorities. They are afterall trying to uncover some unspoken secrets behind the empty jets bring "nothing" into the region.
