SOund like a simple thing but I cannot get a straight answer.
I am looking for a cable (3 or 6") out from the HVX200 component video out to the YPrPb (3BNC) into the Marshall 7"HD/SD monitor. I know I can use the cable that came with the camera by adding BNC adapter to the RCA but if I want to get a different cable what do I ask for?
HD-15 to BNC? (those cable have 5 BNC at the end not 3)
D4 to BNC?
Please help.
Thanks
Alex , the technically retarded one!!

HD-15 to BNC cables are designed for PC monitors. The extra two cables are for horizontal and vertical sync, if memory serves.

D4 to Component video is the kind of cable that comes with the camera. I don't know where to find a D4 to BNC cable (or if there even is one), but using such a cable would eliminate the need for the adapters.

....just ordered mine as well....maybe I can steal a couple of BNC connectors off the truck next week......:engel017:

The thing to do is cut the cable to the length you want and solder on BNC connectors. Be sure slice cable open to see wire colors befor lobbing off end. You are basiclly cutting off RCA ends and replacing them.
If you're not into slicing and soldering, RCA male-to-BNC male adapters will do just fine.

I just received the cable from digitalconnection.com. It's good to have a short one of these!
