What Blu Ray Blank Media?

Hi everyone,

I just bought this external drive so that I can start burning Blu Ray discs for brides on my iMac using FCP and Toast:

Now I'm looking into what blank media to buy. I see some awful reviews for affordable brands like Memorex, etc. with claims that these discs no longer play after 9 months or so. So my question is, what blank Blu-Ray discs are you guys using? Please provide a link to purchase the discs if possible!

Unfortunately I have yet to deal with blank BD media (too expensive!), so I haven't done too much research.

SuperMediaStore usually is good with recommending brands, and is well aware of loyalty to DVD media such as Taiyo Yuden, so contacting them may not be a bad idea. Interestingly, they seem to have high reviews on the Memorex lines, so again, I can't really comment.
 
I'm not sure what "too expensive" means, but I generally buy Verbatim, Sony, or TDK. I've had good luck with them all.

I have some imation/memorex BluRay's that are nearly 2 years old now and they work just fine.

As for expense, I am paying about $2..20-$2.50 for 25GB BluRays. I don't consider that very pricey at all. Considering the cost of mini-DV tapes is about the same.
 
check out the verbatim 25 gb from B&H (best price i found) , i bought a 50 pack of the printable ones, burned about 6 of them so far for client viewing purposes (eventually delivery too) haven't had a single error. I have the exact same burner by the way. Only issue is that if you just a blank BD in there, the system glitches and keeps mounting the sucker over and over again, so i'd pop in the disc right when you are ready to burn.

haven't tried and DL's, 25 gb can hold a lot especially if you are doing a h264 encode over mpeg. I've tried both, h264 yields great results at a smaller file size, can visually see no difference over than mpeg. Haven't used it with toast, done all through adobe encore cs5
 
I eventually have to burn 25+ for final delivery, will give you verdict afterwards in a week or so if i end up with any coasters.
