Hi guys,
I just bought the SD CL-8 from, I have the SD788 with a Porta brace for the recorder,
But now I want to buy a new bag for the whole rig, or maybe there is a different option.

What are you using?

Best Regards

i have the petrol pegz 2.
Its pretty big though.

In my opinion, whatever size ya end up with..
Petrol is THE bag to have.
Excellent.
Way better than any porta brace bag ive owned over the years.

I also have a petrol bag designed for the 302.
Im selling off my 411's and going with SRa5P's and I might move down and get the pegz 1 because
I wont need quite the room, but you can see how things get filled up quickly.

Rippie, nice set up! ... what's the Long Shotgun? ... also can the 788T function without mixer as a stand alone without compromising too much connectivity?

Ive always used a mixer so far..
I had the 788T out on rental for 3 days this week.
The guy had 2 wires and a boom..no mixing, all iso's..
so he decided to not use a mixer, but to use the small trims on the recorder.

He said it was a pain in the arse.

I'll wait till i get the CL-8 and also the fader pack (not out yet)
before i ditch the mixer.
All the routing and low cuts and everything you need is in the box.
Just trying to ride levels with rough adjustment trims rather than finetuning faders(knobs)
it was rough.

Its an 816T.
I dont use it much since I got the Sanken CS-3e

Figured i'd expand on the question.

With the latest firmware..
the 788T can do all the functions that you get with the CL-8 attached.

normally the knobs on the front are input trims. (and the cl-8 is your channel faders)

You can go into a different mode making the input trims..software based (using the menu knob to adjust your rough gain on the screen)
That leaves the front knobs as your actual channel faders.

So you can make all your inputs iso'ed to tracks 3-10 prefader
and you can then use the knobs on the front to create your mix tracks on 1/2

Personally i wouldnt want to do critical mixing on those tiny 8 pots.

What coincidence, look what Trew just sent out in their email ... it's OK everyone, you can drool!

I like the idea of 8 tracks to CF and then onto a HD. This would make life eaiser and one could get all sorts of extra optional ambience tracks for post.

Everyone loves the CS-3e, I heard nothing but the best about this shotgun.

I'm use to two tracks ... so 8, 10, 12, etc tracks ... it's all gravy. ;)

12 tracks really makes me want one of these even more! I could see using wireless units and planting mics to see what usable ambient tracks I'd get.
