Hi dvxuser.com,

I have used this site a lot to find out what kind of wireless I should get for my pricerange.

I setttled on the Audio Technica U101 system and will buy a Countryman b6 lav.

I will primarily be using this in New York city, and went on the BH Photo webpage to get one (not offered on the Bayview Pro Audio page).

Which one from BH would you recommend?

Also, I noticed that not many pro audio websites are offering the U101. Is this thing obsolete? Should I wait a little bit before purchasing?

Thanks!
Ed

If I was selecting among those sets, I'd get the one that includes the 831 microphone. If you're getting a Countryman mic anyway (which is omnidirectional) then you may appreciate having the option of going to the AT831 (which is a cardioid).

I don't think the U101 has been discontinued. I have it, it's a nice set, but it does drink batteries.

The main competition right now is the Sennheiser G2, which is much much smaller and I believe it uses AA batteries instead of 9V. But the AT-U101 is a good set for the price.

Thanks Barry!
I will get that, one.

One more question:
Is the audio quality slightly better on the U101 compared to the Sennheisser g2?

Even if it's about the same quality as Sennheisser, I would opt for the Audio Technica, just because I have more loyatly to their company.

Re: What AT u101 package should I get?

I've got both an AT101 and a Sennheiser Evolution 100 (predecessor to the G2). The audio quality seems pretty similar.

Re: What AT u101 package should I get?

What are the differences from the Sennheiser 100 G2 to the 500 G2? From the website they look quite the same...

I don't like those AT wireless. The range is not all that good, and they are bulky. Get the G2's or Sony UWP-C1's
