What are the three screws that tighten a tripod head to the tripod?

I'm interested in learning the exact name because I would like to replace one. I'm also curious if they have ones where the ends are phillips so you can screw them in rather than using the other tool? (Allen Key?)

Thank you.

I'm guessing you are talking about a socket head cap screw like this:

no. thats not what he's talking about. what he needs are the flat head set screws.
in the manfrotto documentation there really is no mention of the specific screws but a similar assembly is something they call the R055,739.
go to their website and look at the "spare parts" section of any of their non-ball tripods and you'll see the assembly listed but not the screws themselves.

there is another discussion about the same thing and it seems there is no easy answer:

id say, go to a professional sitll camera shop. not a best buy or wolf camera place. they may have some spare parts from broken gear laying around...

Yes, definitely set screws - thank you. I wish I can find some non-allen ones..I'm going to check around.

Thanks guys.

Keep in mind that one reason to use set screws is because the allen wrench provides a lot of torque. A replacement using a phillips head may not provide the torque needed to keep the unit together.
