If you think it's been asked so often, have you tried "Search"?

What you render to will depend on where you are (PAL or NTSC), the aspect ratio, your audio requirements, frame rate, HD or SD etc. , etc. To record to DVD use DVD Architect, render your project from Vegas as MPEG2 (probably this but it depends on what you are aiming for) and AC3 and import.

Like David said, use the DVD architect template for MPEG-2. Sony has a white paper, "MPEG Encoding Overview: Using the MainConcept MPEG-2 Plug-in" that covers all the gory details and will give you ideas on which settings to monkey with to improve your specific renders.

I have just started using Vegas and I am really liking it. Do I take it that DVD Architect is the best authoring program for use with Vegas?

cheers

Best? No. But it comes free with Vegas, so it's certainly the most popular. And it is a decent program...
