What are the 3 must have Nikon Lenses?

any thoughts on the 50mm nikkon af 1.8 compare to 1.4 for both indoor and outdoor?
Indoor i would be using roughly to start at least 2k in lights...

No non AI lenses for D300?

No non AI lenses for D300?

Anyone know why you can't use non AI lenses on a D300?

I have an old 50 1.4 that I love but according to Nikon's tech spec's will have to give up on my new body.

Anyone buy used/new lenses from Ebay? I'm not a big Ebay fan (lots of scams on there), but I'm having trouble finding a decent price on the suggested Nikon lenses. The 17-35mm f2.8 for example. I can't find it for less than $1600. I budgeted $1500 for all my lenses. I was hoping to at least buy the 17-35 and a 50mm. (I'd like a telephoto as well, but it doesn't look like it will fit the budget)

With any adapter, you gotta have the 1.4 lenses. There's too much light loss otherwise.

I know it's softer at 1.4, but I'd rather get proper exposure than go for ultimate sharpness...especially since few such projects get projected on the big movie screens.

Everybody is talking about the 50mm f1.4... But what about the 50mm f1.2?

I've read some reviews stating it's the sharpest 50mm at f2. It's soft at f1.2, almost identical to the f1.4 at f1.4, but sharpest at f2 when all the others are getting sharper around f2.8 or more...

Has anybody tried it on a 35mm adaptator?

i have the 55mm 1.2 ,any one tested this oddball size nikon lens, just got the 24mm 2.0 ,and the 35mm 1.4 with a 85mm 1.8 . is it worth upgrading my 85mm to a 1.4 ?big cost difference. i am getting rp lens gear ring put on the fastest ones. trying to get the fastest set for when i move up to the red.
