I don't watch TV (not that I'm able to), but I need to catch up on what's going on the the world of television documentary series (the type shown on the Discovery and NatGeo channels, etc.)

Docs that are more fun than serious. I'm completely out of the loop.

I'm interested in travel/adventure shows. What should I watch (that I can find a torrent for)? Shows are are short-form (6-12 episodes) are perfect.

On the travel channel, I TIVO Samantha Brown's "Passport to Europe" and "Passport to Great Weekends". They're both really interesting and tell ya' a lot about a bunch of cities around the world. They're on a LOT too.

On Nat. Geo, I like "Mark and Olly: Living with the Machigenga". I think though, it's only
re-runs now. It's basically about these 2 guys that go out and live with this tribe in Peru and get accepted to them and live there.

and for Discovery, "Wreckreation Nation", with Dave Mordal, is pretty cool. It's got some slow episodes, but it's usually pretty interesting. I have to say this is my fav. cuz the creator of Discovery, is from a town 5 minutes from mine!

Best series out there? This American Life on Showtime. Phenomenal storytelling and incredible visuals. It's total inspiration.
You can get it on iTunes

A fun action adventure show on Discovery Channel is season 2 of Storm Chasers. It beat Deadliest Catch last season in ratings. They shot it on Sony Z7's. If you like severe weather you'll love it.

I like the VICE Guide to Travel, on www.vbs.tv

Their short film series are much different than their magazine. Topics range from ocean adventure to border-crossings.

If you haven't watched the DVD entitled The VICE Guide to Travel, it's worth the rental just to see kids making guns in the streets of Afganistan.
