What am I doing wrong?

In FCP timeline I have my entire movie set ready to render. When I play and view it at 200% the picture is still pretty sharp and looks good. As soon as I render in any way I am getting artifacts. IS there something I am missing here?
 
%200? Do you mean you set up the canvas size to %200? It should be 'fit to window' or %50 for optimum performance...
Or are you talking about increasing the speed of a clip to %200?
 
No no I am just talking about viewing in the canvas at 200% the image quality is great. But no matter what output I use in compressor, or even just straight to full res QT I am getting artifacts and pixrlation.
 
Do you have ALL levels of render set? Are you looking at computer monitor playback (which is dynamic and will compensate quality to make it run), or on an external monitor?
 
I guess you are working with HD material, since it is crisp at %200 in canvas...
Click on the "RT" on timeline and make sure playback video quality is set to "High"...
If you already burnt it to DVD and seeing those artifacts on a tv then problem might be a wrong compressing, or conversion settings you are using. Downconverting from HD-SD, I believe that is where the problem might be...Which i am not good at...
