It might seem odd, but that's what I use for my work in school, and I never had the chance of comparing it to the at 4073 or te me66. As someone put it on another board, I live on a country by the dictatorship of Sony, and besides of pro soundman carring MKH416's, there is a lot of Sony gear around.
I have been using the mic for some time now, on occasion, and I never felt it to be a quality mic, but also did not let me down. Most of the times I couldn't get a clear monitoring and recorded straight to a PD-150, witch means audio turned to **** independently of the mic. Lately I started to mess up with that and hook it to my DVX, and I was actually surprised how good it was (I have thought it was a shity mic) then I discovered it was in the same price point of the me66 and at4073, something I wouldn't have expected until very recently.
Anyway all this to ask if any of you have had any experience with this directional, and if it's any good?
