What about the new Mac Book?

Hello,

Do you have some experience with the new Mac Book 13,3, dual 2MGh.

Can you do some editing with FCP with this laptop?
Does is work well? Is the screen large enough?

I hesitate between the Pro version and this one. But the Pro version is twice the price.

Thank you,

Laurent

Take a look at this thread: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=57389 which includes a link to the review, "13-Inch MacBook Benchmarks 1," at http://www.macvideopro.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=43717 that states, "Contrary to the bizarre rumor, the MacBook can indeed run Final Cut Pro, and it can run it quite well, if these tests are any indication. "

You can never have a large enough screen for editing with FCP, however, the MacBook has an extended desktop feature that supports full native resolution on the built-in display (1280 x 800) and up to 1920 x 1200 pixels on an external display. The second monitor support of the Mac Book will come in handy if you find you need more screen real-estate. Screen refresh, however, will not be as snappy as with a high performance video card. I suggest you try it out before you buy and determine if it's fast enough for you.
