WGA registration fee $15->$20 :(

I just got two of my recent WGA registration certificates in the mail, noticed I was charged $20 each. I guess that must the new WGA fee. And I guess I have done my last WGA registration. Much better to go with US Copyright Office, $35 online and much greater protection, remedies, and a hell of a lot longer lasting. I also had registered those WGA works with US Copyright Office, but at $20 I will pass on WGA from now on.

WGA registration is about as valuable as registering with the Mickey Mouse club, it has no legal standing other than acting as a witness, and I'd rather have Mickey at my side in a courtroom :)

A US Copyright is the registration of your legal right to your own work/copy by the copyright office. The US government also has protection agreements throughout the world with other governments protecting your works. The WGA has good PR.

I am pretty sure I paid just $15 for wga regs just a year or two ago. Not sure when the increase happened but was not that long ago, maybe two years at most? Regardless, the current $20 fee is just too high a fee to justify what little legal protection wga registration provides, compared the massively more legally useful USLOC $35 fee (online).

It's been $20 for several years. Where did you hear 15?
