Western Digital drive LOUD!

I just bought this new Wester Digital "M Book" drive 1000 gb, triple interface drive and it is REALLY LOUD! The internal fan is on more than half the time the drive is on. I've moved it around cause I thought it was overheating but the fan blows wherever I move it - and it comes on like 5 mintutes after I turn the drive on. VERY ANNOYING. Anyone know if this is normal??
 
I've got two of the 320GBs and they actually really quiet. The fans on mine are spinning anytime the drive is spinning, but they're sitting within three feet of my head and they don't annoy me at all...perhaps you have a loose fan or something?
