Well, this is depressing...

Maybe this is redundant/"duh", but that IS the same Cracked. . .magazine is long gone, the comedy aspect (sort of) remains, but it became a comedy/news site centered around list-based comedic news articles (though they do have a lot of video content) and in the last, say, 4-5 years has leaned much more on the news side, with some articles that have no humor altogether.

First off, a lot of these are exciting opportunities for people to move into. DSLR filmmaking was supposed to kill the industry as well, because it dropped off the bottom. Yet the independent filmmakers on this very forum were mostly started because equipment became accessible. It's still up to people to use them properly.

Also, for a long time I've wanted to make a futuristic scifi show set in the early 2000's, from the perspective of writers in the later fifties/early sixties. Same general look as things made in that era, but not done over the top ironic like some other examples. I suspect the futurism accuracy would be about on par with articles like this.

Anyone else remember when Cracked was a magazine that was a half-assed rip-off of MAD magazine?

Meh, I always liked Cracked better than Mad. Their parodies were better, their art was better.

As for Cracked.com, it used to funny, but these days, it's all highly-political, so I stopped reading it a while ago.

I just assumed the article was written by A.I. and didn't bother to read it. ;)

Right now computer are logical. So they can do what you tell them to. But I've read before that it takes emotion to make choices. Otherwise you end up in an endless loop about what is better, chocolate or vanilla based purely on the chemistry of each.
If we give computer emotion one day, they'll be able to make those choices based on how they feel. But emotion is faulty. When you start making choices based on how you feel, you sometimes make the wrong choices.
Then the machines won't be any different than us.
