Well, I turned 20 today

Ya, the big 2-0. Last year was a great year, and I'm looking forward to an even better one this year. I got some great presents from my family too. We had the party on Saturday and I got the John Wayne/John Ford Collection, The Hitchcock Masterpiece Collection, Warner Bros. Gangster Collection, and with the bday money from my grandparents got Entourage seasons 1 and 2. My aunts gave me some money as well, and that went into my DVX savings fund. Maybe this time next year I'll have saved enough to get one. I've been saving for a while and I'm almost able to get one. I want to pay for it myself, my first real big purchase.

Anyway, I'm going to go party with friends.

Thanks John. I like to think of myself as one of the exceptions to the people my age. Most of the people my age, go out, drink till they puke, get high, get arrested and do dumb ****, and it gives the rest of the mature people a bad name. I get pissed when I go into a 7-11 or something and get looks from people like "oh he's trouble cause he's 20. All kids his age are jerks." I'm a lot more mature than most of my friends. They sit around all day thinking of dumb things to do, while I'm analyzing movies seeing what works and what doesn't in a film and trying to get my own films off the ground. I'm actually trying to do something with my life. It's a shame that people like me who actually try and do something with their life get treated like the one's who do stupid **** like rob people and smoke pot. anyway thanks for the birthday wish again John. I'll get off my rant.

my friends ended up cancelling on me cause of their girlfriends. Oh well, I'll enjoy Stagecoach or another film instead.

I hear your rant dude... same thing here, people are like "why don't you come out and party?" (aka drink or get high and waste your brain away) and its just stupid. Good for you that you're serious about life! Its refreshing :)

And your welcome for the birthday wish... you deserve it... oh one of death, LOL!
 
i enjoy a drink as much as the next guy, but doing it to be popular, to see who can hold the most liquor is pointless to me. to me drinking should be with a small group of friends with a nice bottle of scotch or some beers just shooting the breeze and solving the worlds problems. its the going out getting hammered and doing crazy stuff that gets to me. be responsible when you drink is basically my point.

i was going to say something about the wording of what Blaine said, but thought it better left unsaid.


can't wait till next year. friends and family are taking me to Vegas. hit some classy drinking lounges like the Rat Pack did. to me that's the way to drink, the way Bogey and The Rat Pack did. with select friends at a nice place or at home having a good time.
