Well I caved and got the NTG-3 kit :)

After much thought and deliberation I decided to get the NTG-3 and the K-Tek KE110CC (for no added cost!!) from DVEstore. I am pretty excited and I get a $1 blimp :). One question though, since I will be getting this pretty late during their promotion will there be any risk I won't get the blimp? I ordered it earlier today.

Talk to Guy or Jessie. They should be able to tell you. They should email you the NTG-3 serial# you bought with your receipt number so you can go to the Rode site immediately to register for the $1 Blimp offer before you even receive your NTG-3. The Rode site says you will get your Blimp in like 4-6 weeks. I got mine just a few days after I got my NTG-3.
 
Cool :) I am happy about the purchase, I am selling my NTG-2 and Rode boompole this week to a fellow audio guy.

I'm hoping for the same here since 4-6 weeks is really a long time.. I registered last saturday.. Well, just surprise me Rode!

4-6 weeks? Maybe I got lucky but I ordered the special on Friday and received it today (Wednesday). The mic, blimp and pole were all delivered at the same time which was a pleasant surprise.
 
Got my Rode NTG3 for an incredible low price and then I ordered the blimp. I got my blimp on Tuesday. Great purchase!!

How does the mic sound compared to what you have been using?
I've seen Matts demo on Youtube but curious about impressions of others as well.
 
I'm really happy with my NTG-3. It's a very nice sounding mic.

It sounded great around the house for home movies over Christmas too. Quite directional. You could barely hear my comments from behind the camera.

I got the blimp and the boompole free too. The blimp didn't take long to arrive.
 
The boom pole is free if you put "DVinfo" in the coupon code upon checkout. They just aren't advertising the special. But to be safe maybe you should check with Guy to make sure it's still going on. I think it is though.

You get $525.00 worth of free stuff between the blimp and the pole. It's a really sweet deal.
 
I am trying to buy the package 3 on DVestore and when I put in "DVinfo" I just got a 5% discount ($50), instead of the $200 for the entire boom..........

Like I said, call them and ask about it directly. They are pretty lax with deals, and even if it's over they may just stoke you out if you bring it up. It's worth a try.
