After my GL-1 was stolen this summer, I was destined and determined to land a DVX-100a. I bought one off of a nice dude that goes to AFI and has no need for his. I picked it up last night, and am in AWE.
Please, does anyone have (or can link me to) some killer user settings? I plan on shooting a video for a Christmas/Nativity scene for my church. Looking for some easy/quick guidence while I learn the intracacies of this beauty. Thanks in advance.

ps. Most of the shoot will be in natual light since I'm gonna try to recreate a Biblical scene in some hills.

Welcome and congratulations.

Set aside a day and read the forums here. You won't believe how much great information there is.

Next, buy Barry's book and DVD, they are awesome.

Lastly, shoot some stuff and have fun.

Chris

Welcome aboard. Now, for the best advice that I can offer, just start using the camera and then when the inevitable questions begin to arise, come back here and do a search to see if the question has been covered before. If it has not, then post a question and sit back and watch the quantity and quality of responses you will receive.

Enjoy the new toy!

Yeah, but there are only three left and I am not about to let a new commer in on the location of the secret list of ever question and answer that you will need to know to become the world's best filmmaker.

You gotta earn the right to read that list by paying your dues and doing a little searching around here first!

Let me second - buy Barry's book! It is the holy grail to me, who knew little about cameras when we got our DVX100a. Between my hubby and Barry, I can actually turn the camera on!
