Weird Problem???? HELP

Hello all,

I am having this weird problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

I have a....

Samsung 40in LCD TV

Samsung DVD recorder DVD-R145

Motorola (Adelphia) cable box

Nintendo Wii

Linksys WiFi

I live in an apartment complex

Some of this is new that is why I listed it....I am trying to weed out the problem.

This is the problem....

I am sitting watching TV with the DVD recorder off the Wii is off and the router is off. I am watching lets say channel 62 and all of a sudden it starts to change the channel on its own :Drogar-Shock(DBG):

I know the DVD recorder changes the channel of the box when it gets ready to record....but when it's off and a random channel??????!!!!!!!!!

What could this be? Is the DVD recorder messed up? Is there a conflict with the recorder and the cable box? Could someone else have a VERY powerful remote that is changing my channel? Is the Wii messing with things? WiFi (i don't think so)?

There is the possibility that your remote runs off RF rather than IR, in which case an adjacent apartment dweller (someone in the apartment next door) may also have an RF remote on the same frequency and when they point it the right direction...

Another possibilty is if it runs off IR and you have more than one TV in the house, the person changing the channel on the other TV could change this one if it is within the line of sight.
 
the only logical explanation would be a poltergeist. it probably dislikes channel 62 (mtv), but can anyone really blame it? if i was the poltergeist i'd be changing it too.

62 is Comedy Central where I live.

No other remote is being used.

I heard, from a recent poll of discontented poltergeists in the mid-west, that the reason they do not like MTV is because of the interruption of the station's regular music video programming by a game show introduced in 1987 called 'Remote Control.'

It all makes such perfect sense now . . .

Maybe your neighbors just changed their remote battery and reaching your TV?
 
Ok....I kind of figured out the problem....well my girlfriend did :dankk2:

When my DVD recorder (no on mind you) changes time....like 9:45 to 9:46 my cable box will change to channel 46. 9:47 box to channel 47 and so on.

This only happens some days and some times.

This is weird!!!!

Now does anyone have any thoughts?

i dont know the solution to your problem...but maybe they do:

I called Samsung....they say a compatibility problem with the Motorola box.
