Weird Premiere Exporting Glitch

I'm using version 1.5 of Premiere Pro...editing a 2-minute piece consisting of maybe 30 separate clips (4000 frames).

When I try to export a movie file (DV quality), Premiere CLAIMS that it is processing/exporting the ENTIRE movie--but when the file is played, it's only exported the first 10 seconds (basically the first clip in the sequence).

A variation on this theme (same 2-minute movie sequence)...Premiere will CLAIM to have exported a 755 MB file, but the AVI file will play back as being a 0:00 empty movie!

I've used Premiere for a year, never seen this before. Any ideas, anyone?

I had a somewhat similar problem. We just finished a project where the audio wouldn't render out all of the way. I deleted the conformed audio clips, and let PP re-conform the audio. After that it rendered, no problem.

Also, I am assuming that, since you have been using Premiere for a while that you know that even in you have your sequence timeline opened, if you have your project window as the active window, then whatever is highlighted in the project window will be what renders. For example, you have "Sequence A" opened up down in the timeline. But you click on "Clip #1" in the project window, then "Clip #1" will be what is rendered. Now if your timeline is the active window, then "Sequence A" is what will render.

Well, this morning I tried exporting as a Quicktime file and (for no apparent reason) it appears to have worked. Maybe it was an issue with the AVI codec.

The weird thing was that Premiere CLAIMED to be exporting the whole sequence...and it registered on my desktop as a 755MB file. But it did not play back that way, if at all. I tried exporting several times without success, and was beginning to think the whole sequence (or worse, my PC) might be corrupt.

If I encounter these issues again, I will try deleting the conformed bits. Thanks for the tip!
