Hey, I was looking at the Grand Prix of Monaco last sunday, and I noticed some shots had a sort of fisheye effect over them. This fisheye effect was only in horizontal direction at the edges, in the middle the picture would be just normal rectilinear. I also noticed that some camera's were using some sort of weird attachment on the lens. I was able to find a picture of this:

Look at the camera which is on the rightside, under the number 9 of the getty-images number.
Has anyone ever seen such an attachment and know maybe what the name of the attachment is?
