Weird Audio Issue--HELP!!!

I'm trying to put some footage from FCP sequence onto tape. It looks and sounds good as I record it. However, when I play back the tape, there are some gaps in the audio...Any ideas??

No -- kind of like writing a render file on your audio. FCP can only stream so many audio tracks based on your CPU etc. When you MixDown your audio it will build a single file for you so export to tape is easier.

OK. THanks...tried it, but still audio has these annoying gaps when I playback...it sounds good in the record, but playback has the gaps....

I also tried putting the piece into quicktime...still getting those gaps...Some of the clips were converted from PAL to NTSC via Compresser...wondering if that could be it...or else the problem seems to be occuring when `I have voice running with the music track which is a .wav track at 44.1, while the voiceover is 48...any other ideas?? Getting desperate, as I need to master this piece tomorrow!

Ah everything should be at 48 khz. I'd try and get the 44.1 stuff in at 48.

At this point, as you've rendered things, done a mixdown, and such, I would try dropping the whole thing into a new sequence and trying some stuff again with a fresh sequence. So make a new sequence and copy and paste everything into it, or duplicate the existing one, highlight everything and press control + b, then press control + b again (this will break your render file associations). At this point I would try exporting a consolidated QT movie and then seeing if you get clean audio. If so, then use that for your final output. Good luck.

Cheers.

I tried exporting the whole movie and there are NO GAPS in the audio now...I'm thinking it may be a problem with the camera I am capturing with...
