Weird Aspect ratio when viewing in quicktime...

Hey guys. Got a weird situation here. When I shoot in DV mode to my P2 card with the aspect ratio set to squeeze, I get an appropriate looking video in FCP, but when I view the clip in quicktime, I get a strange half squeezed, half 16x9 image. All of my 720p and 1080i clips look fine in QT, but just the DV stuff gives this weird look. Anyone know what is going on? thanks, -jason
 
what do you mean by half squeezed, half 16x9? Look at the movie info and post what the resolution is. It is probably 720x480 and it's being viewed as 720x480, which means QT doesn't know that it is anamorphic and is not stretching out to 854x480.
 
Hey. Thanks man, that was it, I just changed it to 854 and it looks correct now. I wonder why it changes it like that? Reason I thought it was half queezed was b/c it had some thin horizontal black letterbox like bars on top and bottom. Anyways. Thanks again!
