Evening everybody,
I noticed something weird today, when I was playing back some footage shot at a friend's apartment in the canvas of final cut pro. It's a shimmering horizontal bar, scrambling about a fingers width of video and moving up and down the screen rapidly before disappearing and reappearing later in the footage. I just took some more footage and ingested it, and the same thing is happening.
I logged and transfered twice on different drives and I still saw it. Then, I went into capture scratch and played the quicktimes, and the artifact is NOT present, which would seem to indicate it's a final cut pro problem, not something with the camera.
This reminds me nothing so much of bad tape, or what tape capture problems used to look like. I can't get a screen shot, because it only shows up when the video is moving.
Any thoughts? It's really scary and annoying! I'm running the latest FCP on a new 17inch macbook pro.
