SHORT: Weight: the pressure of high school wrestling. Shot 80% of it in my home with Gh4.

Hey guys,

I just put out this film WEIGHT. I shot 80% of it in my home with a GH4 and a single lens.

This was definitely a bare bones project. But I really tried to use visuals to tell the story. I used my roommate as the actor (his first time ever). Definitely had a lot of fun giving him direction!

I also scored / did all the sound design.

We captured an epic mirror crack shot (in 1 take) at the end. Watch it here:

Thank you. I appreciate that Morgan and David. I used all ambient lighting, and just framed to get contrasty shots. The only scene I really adjusted was the hallway shot. I moved some lamps around in my house, and switched out bulbs with fluorescents to push the blue!

I graded it using curves and basic HSL stuff. Used gorilla grain and Vashi's anamorphic filter to bend the image a bit (to try and distort it).

The story came from a personal friend of mine too. Wrestling is an intense sport.
