Hi Guys, I Think this is the actual offtopic random chat...Although I've done a film website I have just finished designing a wedding website as I am also a photographer...And i just wanted to know what you think of the website :)

It's not finished yet but most of the framework is there

Thanks :)

i think it needs a lot of work before we judge it. right now it lacks proper english, working links, and any content. so. i dont know what to say!

Hi there, here are my thoughts:

-The page is confusing. The Red sticks out too much, and that text on the main page is HUGE! The massive "3d" borders are tacky, I'd get rid of those.

-When you click on the links from the opening page, the layout changes. This is strange. You should make the design so that when somebody clicks a link, the page layout stays the same, the only thing that changes is the actual text. You can do this using something like frames or simply just making each page the same and testing this out.

-Get rid of the border round the links. The buttons are actually not bad, that little animation is pretty neat. But I'd say they're a bit too big. You might want to give more space in between the buttons where the text is. (Rogue wedding etc.) They need to be less obvious. Less like "Hey look at me, I'm a button!!!"

-The banner at the top will need some work, you don't have to be complicated about this but as it stands with all the red and the borders, that picture kind of just looks "heaped" on with some "fancy" text and no real substance. You could either feather the edges on the left hand side, or take a banner and spend some time in photoshop doing something more interesting. Again - you don't have to be complicated but if you're going with the simple approach, make it effective.

-On video wedding, the images are on the left side, but on photo wedding, they are on the right hand side. This is a bit confusing and it's better if you keep it on the same side.

What are you planning on doing text wise? Right now all the text is too big. If this is for weddings, you need to be elegant, to the point and really sell the services.

On your contact page for example, that email address is pretty big and looks kind of tacky. What about looking into a contact form? Something basic can be done with minimal coding - you can get templates for this online. A nice form: Name, email, inquiry, etc. You can also list the email for people who don't want to fill out the form, but not so huge like that.

I would take a look at some other wedding service websites to see what you're up against. Hopefully these comments will help you - with a quality website you can really make your services look like the ONLY ones available. You can make people say "Oh, let's go with these guys, they seem like the best" just from a kickass website design. Of course, you need to think of creative and interesting ways to show your media and it's important to make the viewer feel at home and that they are in the right hands. Right now, that red is not doing anything for you, it's not very elegant, it sticks out, those borders look too MS word-y. If you're going to do a simple design, then make it subtle.

Keep us informed with your progress.

Chris
