Wedding Videos!!!

Looking To use Edius as a Edting progarm for weddings Bar and Bat Mitzvahs Etc.. What is your thought of this program for editing wedding videos with transions menues, about how Much does does it cost! And what do I need To get a system going. I have a PC?

I formerly did wedding work but never edited them on Edius, instead using Vegas or NewTek editors. I use Edius now for files shot with my Panasonic HMC 150. It is a very capable product especially for that file format.

out consumer/events coverage department has 4 edius suites editing weddings etc. They are stable and fast. We replaced all our Premiere systems.
even thos 2 of our systems still use old storm cards, and one using acedvo, and a raptor, using them to edit mixed footage , HD and SD is still a breeze. we just use SD monitor to check color and output whatever, dvd, wmv...

I started using Edius last year. Previously I was using Avid Liquid. I do music videos and occasionally wedding videos. I can tell you this program is dynamite! The most powerful advantage is real time. Almost everything you do affects the clips video (or audio) in real time. This helps your creativity immenesly. The last wedding I did took me about 4 hrs of editing and I was able to deliver the DVD within 2 weeks rather than 2 months.

I can say that Edius is very fast ,I found that editing was a breeze and saved me time. I have yet to fined a program that can works this fast , stable and quality , where it took me about 7 days in total in the past , it now takes me about 4day's to do a full wedding video. I generally only do wedding s when the work load is very slow and want some pocket or burger money. There is a friend that uses do all his weddings on adobe PPRO , he one day walked in while i was editing a wedding, he could not believe how stable and fast it was and what made him change was a few things , but the 2 things that made it for him was when i put 5
Layers rt on effects and recorder out on to a dv tape, the other was i crashed the system while the programs was still running . and restarted the PC and edius started up and i went on.

Its awesome for on the fly CC and transitions without having to render. Rock solid performer. It has a slight steep learning curve but I've taken to it easier than Vegas.
