Wedding Videos & New Website Cinematic & Elegant Productions

Hi,
My name is Joshua Smith. I am a wedding videographer. I am 19 and have been filming weddings and events since I was 13.
Please check out my new website for weddings and the videos that are on at this time.
I would like some feedback.
They were all shot with the DVX100p & DVX100A Mix
I will have more videos up later. Here is my site
www.cinematicbride.com

Also all the different pics are screen grabs!

Thanks,
Joshua Smith

indeed nice website. would think about changing the music though. doesn't go with the visuals.

nevermind, last post. had another window running some other video behind your website. just realized that rap soundtrack wasn't with your site. ooops

Off the hook! CONGRATS! I mean the website, unfortunately I was unable to play the videos because quicktime couldn't find something at the server that I need to play the videos, however for the quality of pictures and such a slick flash site I can already tell is superb. If you can help I would love to see them. Thanks in advance

Wow, I'm 19 and I could only dream of being at this stage of professionalism... I'm still working my way up the chain! Awesome site, but I couldn't view any of the videos because I haven't got Quicktime installed on this laptop...

Site looks terrific!

great job ! You have a great eye for detail and love your shots.Who does your website, if I may ask? Please pm me with info if you wish.

Hey there-

I was unable to look at your quicktimes (because I don't have quicktimes on my work computer) but I really appreciated your site. As someone mentioned, it was quick and to the point without being too flashy. Really excellent. I look forward to hopping on my personal computer to take a look at your work.

DITTO.. PLease PM me the web designers info. It's very simple, but very well done. I like the idea with the photo album. You have been doing this since 13! Do you do weddings full time , and is it your sole source of income?

Hey Kevin,
I have been doing this since 13 and started my business at 15 I graduated this year.
From highschool and I am not going to college. I may eventually go to film school such as www.fullsail.com.
I am preparing to go to six bridal fairs this coming year all over louisiana and mississippi.
This will be the big year I hope. I am doing this full time and it is my sole source of imcome right now. I will be doing other things coming this year such as a music video for a girl in Tennessee with another production company.
Thanks,
Joshua Smith
P.S. By the way I was homeschooled so I had alot of time to work on my business after I got done with my school work.

love your work, and furthermore, love your site. Can you help me out with a couple quick answers to these questions:

What camera/lens setup did you use
Did you use a dolly or was that just incredibly smooth paning inside the church
What program did you use and how did you go about the effect where its dark around the edges, and then in the center, it has a little extra exposure. I edit on After Effects 6.0 and Premiere. I have achieved similar effects but I can't get it exact, I was wondering how you do that yourself, to see if its the same thing I do or what.

Great Job, Keep Doing What You do. I've never seen anybody take wedding videos as seriously as you do

Nice site!

Constructive criticism: too much vignetting on the second video, over-use of sideways or angled shots, too much diffusion in areas (unless the bride was extra zitty, then good work masking it with extra diffusion!), some slo-mo stuff had really bad re-sampling problems. Also, the first video didn't play for me... could just be the extra buggy new Quicktime though!

Well, hopefully I've listed something helpful, and don't worry... I'd rate you on the upper end of the wedding videographer spectrum.

P.S. I know you're probably a lady's man and all, but you really should consider including just a touch more groom-oriented stuff as well. I think your site is completely aimed towards brides and I'm pretty sure there were only maybe two or three short shots that had a groom in them in your demos. I guess I can't blame you for being a fan of the lady's!

Hey Answer to questions!

Hey Answer to questions!

For RealityMS & pastywhiteboy
What camera/lens setup did you use
The lenes that are on the DVX

Did you use a dolly or was that just incredibly smooth paning inside the church
All Glidecam I guess you could call me a glidecam nut!

Well I am a final cut pro hd user so I use the effects that are in it.
Color Corretor, G-Vignett

P.S. Pastywhiteboy
Thanks for the few pointers.
Also the vignette filter looks heaver on the web videos than it accutally is.
Also I usually have more groom stuff up but I just got this site up yesterday
I will put up some more soon!
Oh and the re-sample problems is the compression I used to put it on the internet.
The original looks very very some with no issues!

Your company name mirrors your work. Now that doesn't happen every day ... and especially not when you're 19 years old.

Great job on concept and execution.

Kindly add me to your PM list -- along with yellowdog and Kevin Briggs -- for the name and contact of your web designer. He/she reflects your creativity level.
