Wedding release form / agreement for videography?

Not sure if this is the same as the "contract", but it seems to be fairly important. A colleague of mine said he made his clients sign a 4 page agreement. What sorts of things should one prioritize in one of these? I feel I should include a clause there about safety, as I will be setting up some lights on the day ( clients know about this already ).

What's the point of a clause about things you do? Safety is your problem, not the clients - so maybe they should put that clause in one to their favour? I don't quite see why you're also looking at release forms - for your own product you are marketing, then it's clear - but you're producing something as a commission by the client.

You can add in something that allows you to use the material shot in any form for your own promotion, your website and other similar areas where you wish to use them, for your advantage. The point of the contract is surely to guarantee payment, guarantee features or facilities they will provide you, and to perhaps protect yourself from potential issues. Contracts rarely have their length linked to their worth, and if the contract looks too scary, they won't sign it!
