Whats the best place to be for shooting a wedding on sticks with just a shotgun mic.

So what did you end up doing and how did it turn out?

it was a jewish wedding. And I asked the photographer for my advice since it was my first jewish wedding. He said for all they care I could sit in grandmas lap for the shot. So I did it handheld right up there with everyone and just went with the flow.
