Wedding Audio Setup

What's the best wedding audio setup? I'm going to buy the Sanhesier EW112P and mic the groom during the ceremony. But when else can I take advantage of this mic?

http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-EW...qid=1431379345&sr=8-2&keywords=Sennheiser+mic[h=1][/h]Probably also buying a Rhode Video Mic Pro - but definitely open to alternatives. When do you use this? Getting ready? Reception? I'm really curious about reception audio because I'd like to use and LED panel for fill, so I'd have to get a bracket to mount the LED and Rhode mic at the same time?

Finally, plan to keep a Zoom H1 or H4 going, haven't decided which.

Really need guidance with audio recording strategy! Thanks SO much!

Olympus DM620/520/420 + Countrymen B6 (or Matchstick Lapel mm-mslm)

For the bride you can strap the recorder to her thigh using something like this:

The mic will then be taped in between the bride's cleavage (assuming she is wearing a low-cut dress...etc). To do this you can use the Rycote Undercovers:

The groom will be much easier to mic for obvious reasons:
- Mic under tie or in the collar. In the case of the B6 it is small enough so that you can thread it through a shirt button, hide it in someone's hair (assuming there is enough hair).
- The recorder can just sit inside the groom's blazer pocket or pants pocket.

Here is a wedding I did using this technique (Olympus DM420 + Sennheiser ME2 + NeoPax + Rycote Undercovers). Both Bride and Groom were mic'd up at all times:

When proposing this mic setup be sure to make it sound super exciting for them to wear such a cool setup. Most brides and grooms are naturally excited as they get to brag to their friends and feel cool during their wedding but just in case be sure to sell it as if this is the coolest thing they will ever do (other than get married).

Note: My Countryman B6 didn't arrive in time for the video link above. The B6 is smaller and would be easier to conceal with less rubbing. But it has a lighter sound whereas the ME2's have a fuller sound since they are presumably bigger.

Depending on when your wedding is, and if you can find a vendor with it available, have you considered the Rode Link wireless lavalier system.

It's about $400, giving you a healthy saving compared to the Sennheiser kit, Initial tests have been really positive:

It also works with the Rode Invis-lav system demonstrated here:

So it would be perfect for a wedding situation, where you would want to hide the lavalier.

Just to clarify I in no way work for rode, I just spend a lot of time researching products before I buy them. I've recently just ordered one myself, hence why I have all the links.
