Hi am a newbie in wedding videography. I have just bought a senheisser g2 wireless system and works great. I also have a shotgun mic. The wireless mic will be used to be attached to the groom during the ceremony.

Has somebody use a shotgun mic and at the same time the wireless mic in a wedding ceremony at the same time. CH1 will be connected to wireless mic, while CH2 will be the shotgum mic.

Is the best setup over just using the wireless mic using both CH1 and CH2.

Help please.

I generally use a shotty and G2 unit simultaneously for weddings as well. When shooting with one cam, I have the wireless go to one channel, and the shotty to the other. When using two cams, I have the wireless go to both channels of one cam, at different levels, as it's my main mic, and I want backup if there's any clipping. On the second cam I have the shotty on one channel, and use the builtin mic on the other.

Do you think 'ME2 Omni lavalier' will be any good for recording a separate sound for the wedding? Because I want to keep my mic as small as possible so the bride and groom don't feel uncountable with the great big bulge sticking in there mouths but, at the same time have good quality sound.

what are weddings like filming with the dvx-100b because people say there not good on light and it gets very contrasted.

Martin, I ve been making many wedding videos with my DVX100 and I all can say is that DVX100 is the best camcorder for that purpose, especially comparing to XL2, PD170...
Btw, for those who knows Captain Willard from Apocalypse Now:
'Wedding videos. ****'
Good luck...
