Webinar on the upcoming Lightworks V2021.3 NLE

I can't attend but am interested in reading a summary afterward of what's new.

Lightworks isn't the most popular NLE, but it has a Hollywood pedigree. It also has the rare qualities of (1) being installable on Linux, and (2) a one-time purchase price, not just a subscription.

However I've never used it.

The webinar lasted about 50 minutes the bullet points were.

A new web site, new forum and new portal

New pricing, which does include both subscription and a lifetime pro license, The free version continues.

Lightworks for Pro - changes under the hood, Allowing complex workflows for high end productions for feature films, dramas etc, with changes to the interchange code.

Increased profile of the traditional Lightworjks flexible layout, as used by advanced users and high end productions.

A demo of V2021.3 and using it with the cloud.

A road map for V2021.4.. OFX plug ins etc The beta is due out in August.

Plans for bringing out the Lightworks console again, so they're looking at today's requirements.

A recording is available on the Lightworks forum. (the new forum is still under construction, so new users can;t make posts at the moment)

The overall impression is that they're doing the things that they've wanted to do for a while and are now free to do so.
