web posting?

I photoshped the hell out of some pictures I took I wanted to post them on line, but when I do it loses the color sheme it's either to dark or black how do I convert a pohotoshop image to post online without losing it's quality. I normaly go to safe wecb posting and convert to a Gif file or jpeg? taht's probably not the best way right?

Make sure the the frame size is not that large, and then go to File>Save for Web.

You'll have the most options that way.
