Just a note for those of you looking for chaep reliable hosting. I've benn with them for seven or eight months with zero probs. Storage space=5gb, daily bandwidth 10gb @ $7.77 per month

for details:thumbsup:

Thought I'd mention it cos I see a few people now and then requesting places to post their stuff and this seems like a pretty good solution to me!

Another good one is Globat. They are usually one of the cheaper hosting companies (from my searches).

Their rates usually fluctuate to keep them competitive with other low-ballers. Currently, they are offering:

5 GB of Webspace
75 GB of Transfer
5000 e-mail accounts
etc.
etc.

for $4.95/month

Several hosting companies change their offers frequently to reflect the competition's offers. Recently, Globat was offering free hosting for one year if you registered a domain name with them (for like $9/yr.).

In the words of PK... Do it! Do it! Do it!

I've already "done it". I've been using Globat for a while. That powweb deal sounds pretty good too. 10gb bandwith per day. Wow!

My guess is that those offering 10gb/day and so forth, can do so because most people won't have that amount of traffic, so they can spread the cost around easily.

Know what would happen if they suddenly got a whole slew of folks hosting videos? (I doubt the folks here would be enough to tip the scales, though...)

Yup! I went Globat 'cuz of your suggestion, PK. :)

Ha! That's funny. Too bad it's not actually about the SNL skit. :)

I have a website that is dedicated to a very small town in the Oklahoma panhandle. I graduated HS there many, many years ago. Anyhow, it is just something I've created to help support the HS athletic teams, etc. in the small town of Beaver, Oklahoma.

Mad props go out to Kyle Stauffer (Kai) who created my website for me.

the URL is http://www.beaverdusters.com.

That's right... it says Beaver Dusters. Go ahead, take your best shot! There's not one joke you can crack that I haven't already heard or thought of myself. ;) :) :) :)

btw... there is another town near Beaver that is named Hooker. ;) (really)
