Web dev question.

If you look at my site www.outlandpictures.com you will see LINKS inside a filmstrip.

I want to have each frame of film (wherever the link is) luminate or go translucsent (sp?) when you rollover it.

1. I know in order to make them links I have to create an imagemap; find x,y coord's

2. Since the TEXT is part of the image already, how can I make the frames "glow"?

Anyone have any tips?

I am so not the IT guy.

Re: Web dev question.

simple javascript onrollover... just like when you roll over a link on this page it gets highlighted.

Re: Web dev question.

Yeah, use javascript rollovers, but in order to do that you'll have to break your image into parts (each "button" and individual image) and reassemble them in an HTML table. Your best bet is to surf around, find something similar (an image menu in a vertical arrangement), and steal the code to start with. If you have dreamweaver you can do it fairly easily I think. I code everything by hand, but I'm pretty sure dreamweaver has an image slicer.

Ahh.... first post, and completely off topic :)

Re: Web dev question.

hey Jumar.. a fellow Vancouverite.. welcome.

Re: Web dev question.

I was watching that awful thing on Sci-Fi last night -- whatever it's called; the latest "alien takes human form" drek -- unmistakably Vancouver. At least in that show they call it what it is, though.

We had a going joke in Seattle when the Real World was filming there -- that they'd have to film in Vancouver or no one would recognize the place!

Re: Web dev question.

Thanks Jared. I'm shooting my first DVX project tomorrow (well, first with my new camera anyway), so I hope it's not raining.

Jabal... I was in Seattle for the first time last week, picking up a used DVX100. What a cool city, especially down by the market area. I was impressed. I picked up two new jaw harps for my collection at that weird little music store down there.

Re: Web dev question.

Actually, Jabal, if you're talking about "Alienated", that's Victoria.
