Weather

Okay, coldest day here this winter is REALLY COLD by my Florida born and bred blood. And I am having windows replaced in my bedroom and bathroom, so the whole shiny world is peeking over my shoulder right now. Two giant holes in my wall where the windows used to be. And did I mention its the coldest day of winter so far?

hey thartley, I'm in Jax, FL too and I'm FREEZING...not used to scraping ice off my windshield...I was kinda confused on how exactly to do it this morning, lol!

hahaha!! its become like second nature to me to scrape ice off the car. every morning theres ice somewhere on my car.... in case you haven't already picked up on this I HATE NORTHERN OHIO!!!! LOL.

Yeah, here in Florida, we are not in the habit of getting out to the car early to start it up and let the defrost heat up to do its thing and get the ice off. I'd be late late late to work. So yesterday, I go to my car, let he defrost run for all of two minutes and was driving down the road all scrunched down in my seat so I could peek thru the 4 cm of cleared windshield I could see thru.

I dont know exactly what to do about the ice either. I used to throw water on it until I realized that it just made a thicker sheet of ice form as soon as the air really hit it.

I would imagine ice scrapers aren't readily available in Florida. In a pinch, you can always use an old credit or membership card (something that you won't need again, if it breaks).

You mean actually stand out in the cold and scrape it off by hand?

This was me this morning...I tried the water thing but it started freezing in rippled waves, which made everything look like funhouse mirrors through my windshield, and I live in a neighborhood where everybody parks on the side of the street...fun times.
