We met the actoirs yesterday for my low Budget films, they were early, and wanted...

one of my staffs wants me to post an individual pic of each actor on the web
mistakingspellthemovie.com. I think it's a bad idea because, they did not have any make up on. what do you guys think?

the make up artist and the assistant did not show up to meet the actors.
I want her to come to try her make-up skill on the ladies, because it's a multicultural film, we have black/african american, caucasian, Spanish, and asian. I sent her the address 4 times, she said she was on her way, she never showed up, and called. I ended taking pictures for the lead actors with no make up.
the director, DP, and the Gaffer asked me to fire her? I just don't know what to do.

as for the Assistant director, and set assistant, i already fired him for not showing up. I know he was doing double work, but not showing up for our first big event, and he sent me a text last night, 'Sorry".
i replace him so fast with a nice lady today, however she doesn't have any experience. But she is hands on.

The make up lady is very good. Still she hasn't call me to apologize for not showing up, or even call. I have until July 30th to find a new make artist.
there are two ladies who want the job just for gas money, however i've never seen their works. they mail me their potfolio, i might receive them by Friday.

should i call the make artist?
the stress is too much for me at this time.

the only four good thing so far:
1-the actors are happy, they want to do this movie.
2- I got a good quote from karen Marshal Insurance for the 1mil commercial Liability
3- North Miami City, and North Miami Police department are helping us a lot at this time.
4-filmiami.org, and FMPTA/ Florida Motion Picture and Television Association are very helpful at this time.
By the way, i must Thank Michelle, I met her from this site, she put me in contact with one of the best acting Coach. Cindy hogan will help us out with some of the scene two weeks before filming in August.
Thanks Michelle.

Wade, give the MA a call and tell her that you missed her at the meet and greet. You already fired the AD and will be looking for another MA if she misses another call. Just tell her once.
Get a photog to shoot production stills and continuity. You can probably get someone good at U of M who wants the experience. Do not post snapshots online. It is image...

The best advice I can offer: Take a Deep Breath! Take each problem as it comes, but look at every eventuality.

What position are you filling? By the sound of it, I am guessing EP or Director? Look, it won't be the end of the world if all the pins don't fall into place. Just have back-ups in place should things not go as you planned.

Many people go into panic mode when they are placed in charge of a production. This does not not help the production. Your cast and crew will sense it and feed off of it. Relax and be professional. I have actually had to take a director off of set and have him vent off his steam and frustration directly at me because he was driving the crew crazy. Calmness and clarity rule on a set.

DadinWestchester gave you good advice, and I would say start looking for another MA right now, just in case they flake again. Then, you will be ready for it.

But, first: Take a Deep Breath!
