Many of you certainly remember the iconic opening credits to The Six Million Dollar Man:

Just got the Season 1 DVD set for Christmas and discovered that two of the MOW movies made prior to the series had a rather different theme:

So glad I was only 2 and don't remember that one . . .

It'd been a while since I've seen the intro for this show. The only thing I'm sure of is that I had never seen the 2nd version....or maybe I had blocked it out.

Love the original theme song and intro. Always reminds me of being a kid and trying to jump over things ........in slow-motion. Good times.

Wow. Man, David, I can't see how your TV survived that second intro's theme song, I'd be certain you'd have thrown something through the screen. That was horrifying.

OMG! Glad I never saw the second theme...until now. You've hurt me with this.

It wouldn't have stopped the theme from coming through the speakers . . .

But hey, if you're going to delve into 1970s TV, you assume the risk. If you listen to the first few notes during the "space" montage, you'll hear a proto-Battlestar Galactica theme. Both were written by Stu Phillips.

Those early TV MOWs tried very hard to be James Bond movies.

So we go from the first 3 notes referencing Also Sprach Zarathustra (2001 A Space Odyssey), to a funky "He's The Man...".

Wow, something in there for everybody...
