I am mostly into writing these days, but have a feature screenplay I would consider producing indie style if the special effects are doable indie style, with After Effects, thus my post here. I do not need to know how the effects are done in After Effects, yet, just if the could be done, relatively cheap. (I.e. I certainly could not afford to construct a room in a house and fill it with actual water).
One shot would involve a scene with a room filling with water. Any way to pull that off on the cheap? Maybe a green screen small model size cube, shoot it filling with water, then composite that with shots of the actual room? But then what about an actor caught in the rising water? Shoot an actor underwater in a pool with green plastic tarp and composite it all together?
